Chhattisgarh TV Anchor Reported News Of Her Husband’s Death In Car Accident

A TV anchor went beyond her call of duty and pulled a spectacular moment that would be remembered for aeons probably.

A TV anchor, Supreet Kaur, read out her husband’s death on live television when she was reporting the news from across Chhattisgarh on Saturday morning.

A news reader at Chhattisgarh’s private IBC-24 channel, Kaur kept her composure during Saturday morning’s live news bulletin as a reporter phoned in details of a fatal accident involving a Renault Duster at Pithara in Mahasamund district earlier in the day.

Supreet went on reporting the details of the accident for at least ten minutes and only when the cameras were off, she broke down. Her act left her colleagues shocked as she showed exemplary courage while reporting as she put her job first.

“She is an extremely brave lady. We are proud of her as an anchor, but what happened today has left us in shock,” said a colleague.

Kaur, 28, has been a news anchor with IBC-24, one of Chhattisgarh’s most-viewed channels, for the past nine years. Hailing from Bhilai, she had married Harsad Kawade a year ago and the couple were residents of Raipur.

The car had met with an accident after the truck hit it from behind. Due to the collision, three people lost their lives and two were grievously injured.

Representational Purpose

Supreet’s husband, Harshad Kawde was one of them.

28-years-old Supreet had married her husband last year and the couple were residents of Raipur.

The editor said the staffers had come to know that her husband was dead while she was reading the news. “But we did not tell her. We did not have the courage,” the editor explained.

In any case, Kaur’s courage is unmatchable.
